Veterinary Assistant – Full-Time

💲 $16–$18/hour (depending on experience)
Sycamore Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our growing, team-oriented practice. We are a busy, progressive 6-doctor teaching hospital that values collaboration, learning, and a positive workplace culture. What We’re Looking For
- Prefer 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital setting
- Motivated, reliable, and eager to continue learning
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Compassionate patient care and a positive attitude
Schedule
- 4-day work week (4/10s)
4 10 hour shifts with rotating Saturday schedule (1-2 monthly)
- 1-2 Saturdays per month
Primary Responsibilities
- Animal restraint and patient handling
- Assisting doctors and technicians with daily clinical operations
- Surgical assistance and patient monitoring
- Supporting hospital organization and workflow
- Providing excellent care to patients and clients

Your Impact as a Veterinary Assistant
- Provide Essential Patient Care: You'll be a key player in the health of our patients, assisting the medical team with hands-on care and ensuring every animal is treated with compassion and respect.

What You'll Bring to the Team
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.
- Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
