Experienced Veterinary Assistant – Full Time

MetroVet Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team in Jamaica Plain, Boston!

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled assistant who enjoys surgery, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is ready to make an immediate impact. We're looking for someone who can confidently jump into the role, support our doctors, and help mentor fellow team members.

What You'll Do

As a key member of our medical team, you'll assist with a variety of medical and surgical procedures while providing exceptional patient care.

Required Experience

Candidates must already be proficient in:

• Placing IV catheters
• Intubating and extubating patients
• Calculating anesthetic and surgical medications
• Monitoring anesthesia
• Recovering surgical patients
• Assisting with routine appointments and treatments
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced team members

Please note: We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant. This position is not suitable for candidates who require training in the core skills listed above.

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Three 10-hour shifts each week
• Must be available Tuesdays and Thursdays (our surgery days)
• Typically work 2 Saturdays per month (8:30 AM–1:00/1:30 PM)
• If you're not scheduled on Saturday, you'll work an additional half-day on either Monday or Friday.

What You'll Bring to the Team
