At our state of the art facility in Purcellville, we provide a full spectrum of small animal medical services. We emphasize pet wellness and prevention while maintaining readiness for complex cases. Experienced Veterinary Assistant – Full Time

Loudoun Veterinary Service is a well-established, highly rated small animal clinic located in Purcellville, VA. With a 4.8-star Google rating, a team-oriented culture, and a drama-free environment for over two years, we offer a calm, supportive workplace where collaboration and growth are valued.
We are currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our close-knit team as we continue to expand.
About Our Practice
Dogs and cats only
Three doctors
Four exam rooms with plans to add another doctor
Strong focus on reproduction services, surgery, and dentistry
Emphasis on low-stress patient handling and optimized sedation protocols
Open, approachable management and occasional team-building events
Schedule & Hours
Clinic Hours
Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Staff Schedule
Four-day work week
35+ hours per week guaranteed
Full-time position
Potential for Saturday hours in the future
Technology & Equipment
Cornerstone software
IDEXX in-house laboratory
Ultrasound (submitted for interpretation)
Digital dental radiography
Modern surgical and monitoring equipment
Position Requirements
One to two or more years of veterinary assistant experience
Reliable with minimal callouts
Comfortable restraining both cats and dogs
Trained in blood draws and laboratory equipment
Surgery experience preferred; training available
Crosstraining a plus
Professional, drama-free attitude
Motivated to learn and grow within the practice
Compensation
$18–$21 per hour, based on experience

Your Impact as a Veterinary Assistant
- Provide Essential Patient Care: You'll be a key player in the health of our patients, assisting the medical team with hands-on care and ensuring every animal is treated with compassion and respect.
- Be the Go-To Support for the Medical Team: You'll be the backbone of the clinic, anticipating the needs of veterinarians and technicians to ensure a smooth, efficient, and collaborative workflow.
- Create a Positive Client Experience: You'll help create a seamless visit for our clients by assisting with scheduling, payments, and communications, always with a courteous and informative approach.
- Ensure a Safe and Clean Environment: You'll take pride in maintaining the hospital, performing clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance to uphold our high standards of care.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.
- Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
