Part-Time Veterinary Assistant

England Run Animal Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated and experienced team. We are an AAHA-accredited practice with a collaborative environment and a strong commitment to quality patient care.

Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM β 2:00 PM
Possible weekday GP shift coverage as needed
About Our Hospital
5-doctor small animal practice
AAHA accredited
Practice Management Software: AVImark
Charting: ScribeNote (SOAP-based charting)
In-house laboratory β all lab work run onsite
Required Skills & Experience
2β4 years of experience in a veterinary hospital setting
Strong multitasking skills and self-motivated work style
Animal handling and restraint
Holding patients for X-rays
Entering charges accurately
Experience with AVImark preferred
Familiarity with Antech
Comfortable running in-house laboratory equipment and diagnostics
Ideal Candidate
Reliable and detail-oriented
Works well in a fast-paced team environment
Comfortable supporting doctors and technicians during appointments and procedures
Takes initiative and adapts well to changing priorities

Your Impact as an Urgent Care Veterinary Assistant
- Be a Critical Support in Urgent Situations: You'll be an essential part of the medical team, directly assisting veterinarians and technicians with hands-on patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure a Seamless Workflow During a Crisis: Your ability to anticipate needs and maintain composure will be key to keeping the clinic running efficiently, even during a medical emergency.
- Provide a Calming Presence for Clients: You'll be a reassuring point of contact for worried pet owners, assisting with check-ins, payments, and communications with empathy and professionalism.
- Maintain High Standards Under Pressure: You'll uphold our commitment to excellence by ensuring accurate record-keeping and maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment at all times.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- At least 1 year of veterinary experience, with ER or high-volume experience preferred.
- The ability to stay calm, composed, and efficient during a medical crisis.
- Confidence and skill in handling pets, with proficiency in basic laboratory, pharmacy, and nursing skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- A flexible schedule, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
