We’re looking to add a Full-Time Registered Veterinary Technician to our busy, energetic, and caring team at Laytonsville Veterinary Practice. 🐾✨

? What You’ll Be Doing:
• Utilizing your technical skills in exam rooms and surgeries 🐾
• Collecting patient histories and client education on vaccine protocols 💉
• Performing in-house lab work (Idexx Procyte, Catalyst One, Snap Pros) ?
• Monitoring anesthesia and supporting surgical procedures 🏥
• Practicing and guiding safe restraint techniques 🐕
• Assisting with urgent care and hospitalized patient treatments
• Supporting soft tissue surgeries, dentals, ultrasound, digital X-rays, and more! 🔬?

🔍 What We’re Looking For:
• Active Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential (Maryland)
• Proficiency in handling animals and working in exam rooms

• Experience with preventives, lab equipment, anesthesia monitoring, and patient care
• Surgical and anesthetic experience
• Bonus if you're familiar with EzyVet software 💻

📅 Schedule & Perks:
• 35–40 hours/week, flexible scheduling
(Options: 3x12s, 4x10s, 5x8s) 🕒
• Rotating Saturdays
• Late night rotation (12–8 pm) to assist with urgent care
• Sunday shift every 4 months, typically includes OT
• Time-and-a-half holiday differential 💵
• Opportunities to see a wide variety of cases, including urgent and emergency 🏥

Your Impact as a Registered Veterinary Technician

Note: The RegisteredVeterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state’s Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.

  • Utilize Your Full Skillset: You'll be a vital part of the medical team, providing comprehensive patient care, including administering treatments, monitoring anesthesia, and performing lab work.
  • Be a Leader and Mentor: You’ll guide and support the medical team, ensuring an efficient workflow while mentoring others to help them grow their skills and careers.
  • Partner with Clients: You'll be a key point of contact for pet owners, educating them on treatments, reviewing medical records, and confidently answering their questions.
  • Contribute to a Positive Culture: You'll play an active role in training, providing feedback, and maintaining the high standards of our hospital environment.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
  • A current state veterinary technician license (RVT) in good standing.
  • Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
  • A calm and efficient approach, especially in fast-paced or stressful situations.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
  • One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
