Job Description

Additional Hospital Information & Who We are Looking For: 

 

• Interest In: Small-animal general practice in an urban veterinary hospital focused on high-quality, relationship-centered medicine. Clinical interests may include preventative care, wellness exams, diagnostics, dentistry, soft-tissue surgery, internal medicine, urgent/same-day sick visits, client education, and continuity of care across all life stages. The hospital emphasizes compassionate, Fear Free–focused care and strong client relationships within a fast-paced downtown environment. 

 

• Part-Time Associate Veterinarian Opportunity: We are seeking a part-time Associate Veterinarian to join the team at Downtown Veterinary Clinic. We are open to approximately 8–15 hours per week and are happy to discuss scheduling flexibility to find the right fit. This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian seeking additional flexibility, supplemental hours, work-life balance, or a reduced schedule while still practicing high-quality medicine in a collaborative environment.

 

• Open to Experienced or Early-Career Veterinarians: We welcome veterinarians looking for a supportive and team-oriented hospital culture where collaboration, communication, and quality patient care are prioritized. Whether you are looking to scale back hours, re-enter practice, or maintain a flexible schedule, we are open to conversation and tailoring the role appropriately. Ideally, looking for at least Friday coverage, but open to conversation. 

 

• Supportive, Experienced Technical Staff: Practice alongside a compassionate and experienced support team dedicated to efficient workflows, strong client communication, anesthesia and dental assistance, diagnostics, and patient care, allowing doctors to focus on practicing thoughtful, high-quality medicine.

 

• Layout & Facility Highlights: Full-service companion animal hospital located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, equipped with exam rooms, treatment and surgical areas, in-house diagnostics, and modern workflow systems designed to support efficient, patient-focused care. The hospital provides comprehensive medical, urgent, and surgical care for companion animals throughout all life stages. 

 

• Collaborative Team Environment: The clinic values teamwork, communication, and creating a welcoming environment for both clients and staff. The pace keeps the days engaging while still supporting a positive and balanced workplace culture. We’re a small but mighty team! 

 

• Patient Mix: A diverse small-animal caseload primarily consisting of dogs and cats, including preventative care, medical workups, dentistry, surgery, and urgent/same-day care presentations.

Who We're Looking For

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
  • A valid state license and in good standing to practice.
  • A collaborative spirit and a dedication to practicing the highest standard of medicine.
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive, friendly attitude.
