Full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (New Grads Welcome!)

Position Overview

Bees Ferry Veterinary Hospital, a growing and accredited AAHA facility, is seeking a passionate Full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our dedicated team. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality care in a collaborative environment. As an LVT at Bees Ferry, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of six experienced veterinarians in a well-equipped facility.

 

Responsibilities

  • Anesthesia Monitoring: Administering and monitoring anesthetic cases during soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
  • Patient Care: Assisting with patient prep, handling, and recovery; ensuring comfort and safety of animals at all times.
  • Diagnostic & Surgical Assistance: Assisting with ultrasounds, EKGs, and surgeries.
  • Lab Work: Performing in-house diagnostics, including blood work, cytology, and urinalysis.
  • Client Communication: Educating pet owners on post-operative care and overall health maintenance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Keeping surgical and diagnostic equipment sterilized and in good working order.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Must be a licensed veterinary technician in South Carolina (or eligible for licensure).
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong experience running anesthetic cases, along with proficiency in laboratory procedures, surgery prep, and diagnostic imaging.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate with a team of veterinarians and support staff in a fast-paced environment.

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $22 - $30 per hour (based on experience)

Your Impact as a Licensed Veterinary Technician

  • Utilize Your Full Skillset: You'll be a vital part of the medical team, providing comprehensive patient care, including administering treatments, monitoring anesthesia, and performing lab work.
  • Be a Leader and Mentor: You’ll guide and support the medical team, ensuring an efficient workflow while mentoring others to help them grow their skills and careers.
  • Partner with Clients: You'll be a key point of contact for pet owners, educating them on treatments, reviewing medical records, and confidently answering their questions.
  • Contribute to a Positive Culture: You'll play an active role in training, providing feedback, and maintaining the high standards of our hospital environment.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
  • A current state veterinary technician license (LVT) in good standing.
  • Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
  • A calm and efficient approach, especially in fast-paced or stressful situations.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
  • One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
