Veterinary Urgent Care Center (VUCC) in Dedham is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our growing team. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment, thrive on challenging cases, and want to be utilized to the fullest extent of your certification, we'd love to meet you.

At VUCC, you'll experience the variety and excitement of urgent care medicine while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Our team manages everything from wellness concerns and minor illnesses to respiratory distress, wound management, same-day surgeries, and emergency stabilization before transfer when necessary.
Our technicians play a critical role in patient care and are empowered to perform treatments, diagnostics, and procedures under doctor direction. This is an excellent opportunity for technicians who want more variety than traditional GP medicine but less burnout than a 24-hour emergency hospital.
What You'll Do
- Obtain patient histories and perform triage assessments
- Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture
- Administer medications and injections
- Collect diagnostic samples and perform laboratory procedures
- Perform ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- Monitor hospitalized and surgical patients
- Assist with same-day surgical procedures
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care and treatment plans
- Work closely with veterinarians to provide exceptional urgent care medicine

Your Impact as an Urgent Care Credentialed Veterinary Technician
Note: The Credentailed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state’s Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.

- Ensure Seamless Care: Your clear and accurate record-keeping in a fast-paced environment will be crucial for patient handoffs, case management, and effective team communication.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- A calm, efficient, and decisive approach, especially during medical emergencies.
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program and a current state license in good standing.
- Proficiency in a range of technical skills, with a strong aptitude for emergency procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing.
- Confidence in handling animals of all temperaments and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively under pressure.
- One year of experience in a veterinary setting is preferred; urgent care or emergency experience is a plus!
